Why would I want to do that?

Let's say you're at home surfing Facebook. Then you see your friend has changed their Facebook status to "playing Call of Duty 4". Naturally, you join in on the action! Instead of needing you to be on the XBox to find out when your friends are playing, you could be doing just about anything.
